Vaccinations - Don't leave it until the last minute!

Cats boarded or resident must be accompanied by an up-to-date record of vaccination against Infectious Feline Enteritis, feline respiratory disease and other relevant diseases. The course of vaccinations must have been completed at least 4 weeks before the first date of boarding or in accordance with the vaccine manufacturer's instructions. This record of vaccination must be kept on-site throughout the period that the cat is boarded.

All licensed catteries have to abide by these terms so don't accept someone telling you they can board your cat after the first initial injection or without proof of vaccination.

To ensure that your cat can be boarded at Cats Whiskers please make certain that yearly boosters are kept up to date. Any cat being vaccinated for the first time currently requires 2 injections, usually 3 weeks apart. We cannot accept your cat for boarding until after the final injection is viable in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. This is often less than 4 weeks (usually 7 - 10 days), if in doubt please ask your Vet when the vaccine can be considered to be viable.

"Routine vaccination has greatly reduced the extent of several feline diseases (including some that can prove fatal). It is vital that your cat has all the necessary vaccinations and boosters."
